Perspective

Today I changed the living room. Nothing dramatic. No new furniture, no big purchases, no makeover moment. I just rotated everything ninety degrees. Same pieces, same space, but the room feels completely different now.

I moved things so Joe could get to the couch more easily, and so we could both rest there without feeling cramped. But once everything was turned, I realized the room wasn’t just rearranged. It felt open in a way it hadn’t before. Lighter. Like it finally took a deep breath.

It’s strange how a small shift can reveal space you didn’t know you had. Not by adding anything. Not by removing anything. Just by seeing what’s already there from a different angle. The room didn’t grow. But my perspective did.

And maybe that’s the part that surprised me. I’ve been so focused on what feels tight and heavy in my life lately that I forgot how much can change without needing something new. Sometimes you don’t need a bigger space or a better plan. Sometimes you just need to turn what you already have and let it show you something different.

Today the living room feels new. And all I did was shift the view.
