Treadmill
I tried the treadmill today for the first time since surgery. I’m definitely not ready for it. I still walk with a pronounced limp, or what I call my stylized swagger. It shows up with every step, and there’s no hiding it.
It was disappointing. I thought I would do better on the treadmill since I walked two miles at the track. I thought the progress I felt outside would carry over. It didn’t. The treadmill felt harder. My body felt stiff. My foot felt unsure. Everything felt off.
I’ll keep trying. I know recovery isn’t a straight line. But today was frustrating. I wanted it to go better than it did. I wanted to feel stronger than I felt.
